CHAMPION OF 64 SQUARE

Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand retained the World Chess Championship title in Bonn late on Wednesday night after ending the 11th game with Russias Vladimir Kramnik in a draw.

Anand had earlier won the Championship in 2000 and 2007.

Anand won three games, drew seven times and lost once en route to winning the competition by 6.5 points to 4.5.

With this win, he became the first player in chess history to have won the World Championship in three different formats: Knockout, Tournament and Match.

He will next defend his title in the World Chess Championship 2009 against the winner of the challenger match between Veselin Topalov and Gata Kamsky.

Anand is one of four players in history to break the 2800-mark on the FIDE rating list. He was on the top of the world-rating list five out of six times from April 2007 to July 2008. In October 2008, he dropped out of the world top 3 for the first time since July 1996.

In 2007, he was awarded the second highest Indian civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan. He is also the first recipient of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 1991-92, the countrys highest sporting honour. (ANI)

in this method some multimedia objects are skipped during fast forward and rewind.using the frame skipping method a proxy server can perform fast forward and rewind function without contacting media servers if enough multimedia data are cached.

The film sees Daniel Craig reprise his role as the iconic British agent after his debut in Casino Royale in 2006, and will also feature glamourous Bond girls Olga Kurylenko and British newcomer Gemma Arterton. “My days are so long, and it’s very physical. She’s going to be very different from the previous Bond girls. She’s on her own mission and she’s driven by revenge.” The title is taken from a short story by creator Ian Fleming which was part of the For Your Eyes Only collection in 1960.
Few clues have been given about the film plot, but the written version has no super-villains, guns, or global conspiracies. It centres around a dinner party conversation in the Bahamas between Bond and the Colonial Governor. Bond is told of a young Diplomatic Service man who marries a flight attendant. When she becomes disillusioned with her life she begins a blatant affair which ruins her husband.
He retaliates by ruthlessly crushing her spirit over the course of a year, leaving her financially and emotionally ruined. The crux is the emotional phenomenon the Governor calls the Quantum of Solace, the smallest unit of human compassion that two people can have. As long as that compassion exists, people can survive, but when it is gone, when your partner no longer cares about your essential humanity, the relationship is over. Bond becomes depressed by the story as he realises he is alone, and that no one in the world has a “Quantum of Solace” for him. Filming on Quantum of Solace began in November 2007 and it will be released in the UK on November 7 2008.

CHANDRAYAAN LAUNCHES SUCCESSFULLY

It was truly a historic moment for the entire country. The PSLV-C11, which carries India's first unmanned moon spacecraft Chandrayaan-1, was successfully put into initial orbit from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre on Wednesday morning at around 6.40 am.
At the end of the 49-hour countdown, the 44.4 meter tall four-stage PSLV-C11 blasted off from the second launch pad with the ignition of the core first stage at 6.22 am.
Large crowds had gathered at Shriharikota since early Wednesday morning to witness this historic event. The crowds cheered at the PSLV, which weighs 316 tonnes soared majestically into the skies. However, the thick black clouds played spoil sport for those waiting to watch the PSLV launch into the skies.People who stood on the terrace of the Brahm Prakash auditorium to witness the launch managed to catch a glimpse of the vehicle only for a brief moment before it disappeared into the clouds.However, the mood in the Satish Dhawan Space Centre where the entire Indian Space Research Organisation team behind the mission was seated was upbeat. They were emotional on seeing that the launch was a success.ISRO Chairman Madhavan Nair got up from his chair, clapping his hands, and congratulated other scientists who had ensured that the mission's success. This is the 14th flight of ISRO's workhorse PSLV, which has launched 29 satellites into a variety of orbits since 1993.The launch vehicle uses larger strap-on motors to achieve higher payload capability.
